Guest speaker:  Kelli Crane, SVP & CIO, Thomson Reuters.
 

Kelli Crane is senior vice president and CIO of Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals. In this role, she spearheads the development and implementation of a strategically aligned global information technology plan and leads the organization in implementing advanced enterprise information systems, such as SAP, across all business units. She is responsible for the organization’s business continuity and data recovery plans and oversees information security policies and processes. Kelli also plays a key role in driving the execution of strategic initiatives and coordinating and tracking major technology projects, bringing Thomson and Reuters together under one technology umbrella.

 

As a senior leader in the company, Kelli takes a strategic as well as a personal interest in developing a diverse and highly talented technology workforce. She serves on the Women at Thomson Reuters steering committee and is an executive sponsor of the company’s Women In Technology special interest group, which provides resources, support and mentoring for women in technology careers in the company. Kelli also provides executive sponsorship for the Eagan chapter of the African Ancestry Employee Resource Group, which supports and encourages the recruitment and professional growth of employees of African ancestry through education, networking, mentoring and career development.

Kelli has been with the company for 23 years, holding positions in technology and operations. Since July 2007, Kelli has led the global Project Management Office that coordinates the Thomson Reuters integration, which is running ahead of schedule and exceeding its initial synergy targets. Prior to this role, she led the customer care efficiency and effectiveness initiative across the Thomson businesses. Other leadership roles include senior vice president and chief technology officer at Thomson Prometric and senior vice president of technology for Thomson Tax & Accounting, as well as a number of management positions in Thomson’s Legal business. Kelli has managed a host of technology initiatives that sharpened market and customer focus, increased organizational effectiveness and enhanced performance.

Kelli received her Masters in Business Administration from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Branch where she focused on computer application. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
