Guest speaker: Elizabeth D. Iversen, Sector Vice President, Mission Assurance, Electronic Systems, Northrop Grumman Corporation

Ms. Iversen serves as Sector Vice President, Mission Assurance, for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector headquartered in Baltimore, MD. 

Ms. Iversen has executive responsibility for ensuring clear definition of program requirements and customer expectations and for developing, implementing, and overseeing processes and policies that accomplish that goal and are applied through the entire program life cycle.  This includes product and process assurance, regulatory and risk management, program management, independent reviews and assessments, environmental, health, safety, and fire protection, and such process improvement initiatives as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.

 

Ms. Iversen received her bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business management and industrial psychology from Iowa State University. She has completed a number of executive development programs, including Leadership and Strategy and Global Strategic Management at Harvard University, the Human Resources Executive Development Program at Cornell University and the Women’s Executive Leadership Program at Smith-Tuck.  Most recently, Ms. Iversen completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

 

Ms. Iversen has over 25 years’ experience with commercial and defense companies in operations management, supply chain management, quality and regulatory management, business strategy development and planning, and process excellence implementation.  She leads the Northrop Grumman Corporate Quality Council and currently is the executive sponsor for Electronic Systems Women's Initiative. 

 

Ms Iversen has held positions of great responsibility with Fortune 500 companies such as Hughes Aircraft Company, TRW, GE, Gateway Computer and prior to joining Northrop Grumman; she served as Vice President of Worldwide Process Excellence for Johnson & Johnson. Ms. Iversen was appointed to her position in December 2005.

 

Ms. Iversen is married to Ron Iversen and they have three children, Greg, Paige, and Sarah.  They reside in New Hope, PA.
